Medical Certificate Requirements

If your flight is after the start of week 27 (or after the start of week 25 for a multiple pregnancy)‚ we’ll need you to bring a medical certificate to show our ground crew. Please keep in mind that these same conditions apply to your return flight too.

What needs to be in the certificate?

For the certificate to be valid‚ it just needs to follow these simple guidelines:

  • Written in English
  • Includes your name in English (exactly as it appears in your passport)
  • States the type of pregnancy (single or multiple)
  • States your pregnancy week
  • Issued no more than 5 days before your flight date
  • Includes a clear statement from your doctor confirming you are fit to fly on both your departure and return dates

More safety rules for flying during pregnancy

For safety reasons‚ here are a few important guidelines to keep in mind:

  • You cannot sit in an emergency exit row.
  • You cannot fly with a baby or a pet unless you have an additional accompanying adult.
  • You cannot fly with an musical instrument/equipment that requires an extra seat.
